Amazing Reasons to Study in Finland

I remember the day, I checked my email and saw a congratulatory message: "We're glad to inform you that you've been given an admission..." I danced and shouted for Joy. The Joy I had was nothing compared to the contentment I feel after reflecting on my study days as a student nurse in a Finnish University. In no other of significance, below are some of the things I loved about studying in Finland:
No Competition in schooling: The Finnish educational system is designed to teach everyone. There's no room for anyone to show superiority in intelligence over another. Team work amongst students is highly encouraged to enable students share ideas together. Another way competition is avoided is by keeping student's grades private. Students have password to a software application where they check their grades. The only one that has access to a student's academic progress and grading sheet is a lecturer who fills in grade after the end of a course evaluation.

Multi-cultural standard of Education: In Finnish Universities, as a student you have the opportunity to literally meet people from all over the world. Such exposure, helps you to become culturally aware and most importantly tolerant to other's opinions, beliefs and perspectives towards life.

Support in Academics: As a student, you are entitled to a student tutor as soon as you accept an admission offer to a Finnish University. Student tutors provide support from orientation period of your study. Course tutors (usually lecturers) and group supervisors also provide additional support by checking every student’s progress and providing help when needed.

High-Standard of Education: The standard of Finnish educational system is evidently high.  Finnish Universities are ranked amongst the best in the world. Finnish Universities are also equipped with modern technological gadget prepared to meet student's needs. Another way, they achieve a high standard of education is by incorporating theoretical knowledge with practical experiences and simulations.

Friendly and Approachable Lecturers: As a student in a Finnish University, you are entitled to an unlimited access to your lecturers for academic purposes. You can contact a teacher with his/her school email or office phone number. Teachers are trained to teach in a friendly and educative manner.

Exchange Programme Entitlement: As a student, you are entitled to an exchange Programme outside Finland where you can get a credit, certificate or a degree. Nevertheless, you can choose to take or leave it. Either way, your learning experience will always be great. The amazing fact about the exchange programme is that the cost is covered by your Finnish University either partly or fully depending on the type of exchange programme you’re going to do.

Safety:
Who wants to study in a University where you are always a bundle of nerves? No one I can guess rightly! Well, in Finnish Universities, there's no need to worry about harassment, abuse and shootings because they're unheard of in Finland.

Thoughts about that kitchen waste..STOP THE PROCRASTINATION!!!

THOUGHTS ABOUT THAT KITCHEN WASTE:PROCRASTINATING THAT SOLUTION Hey lovelies!!! It is my first blog and I am so happy to welcome you all to join me in this fabulous journey. I hope you enjoy reading my thoughts and health tips so let's get started. I got inspired by a discussion I had recently about a huge challenge that is hindering us from achieving our schedules and desired goals and I decided to remind us about it and offer a little tip on how to deal with it. Let's start with overcoming the problem of procrastination. Many of us can identify with the problem of procrastination,- those times when you feel something needs to be done but then you postpone it for a more convenient time, until it becomes a nuisance and then you're forced to deal with it but more urgently than you would want to.  We often pay little or no attention to this problem in disguise. I have a good example of this from a very special room in our home which is our kitchen . We may feel l...

NURSING STUDY ABROAD FOR FREE: NURSING IN FINLAND AND NIGERIA

I am very passionate about sharing my nursing experience with others. Having studied and practiced as a nurse in two continents, different cultural settings and nursed people in all levels of social class, age, and gender, I think a have a little wealth of knowledge to share with you. My main aim of writing of this blog is to provide some insights about the approach and mode of nursing in Finland and Nigeria. Nursing in both countries are a lot similar in that they have and follow the core values of nursing in practice. The nursing values like human dignity, integrity, autonomy, altruism and social justice are held high. Nevertheless, the University of applied science Jyväskylä, in Finland and the Rivers state school of nursing, Nigeria have some differences in terms of how culture has influenced nursing, the expression of autonomy, the institutions where nursing can be studied, the use of technology and criteria for graduation. For a nursing student to be ready for g...
